Patrick’s early training began at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford. After obtaining the University of Oxford Certificate in Fine Art he attended Trent Park College of Education, Barnet from which he qualified as a teacher. 15 years of teaching followed, the last 8 of which he spent running a very successful art department at a prestigious private school in the southeast.
Later, Patrick transferred to adult education. Initially teaching portrait painting and still life-life to local classes in Somerset; expanding into running art holiday courses for the Field Studies Council and Holiday Fellowship, around Britain.
Now working as a full time artist, his work covers a wide range of subject matter in both drawings and paintings. These include portraits, imaginative landscapes, war themes and figurative work. He works chiefly in pencil, ink, gouache and acrylics.
Though the major influences in his work are rooted in Cubism and Surrealism, Patrick intrigues the viewer with his challenging and varied work.
